My drawings are created by using a combination of lines and marks in charcoal dust on paper. The dust is ground into the paper using my fingertips; the work emerges once layers of the dust are removed.

By clearing charcoal from the surface or drawing lines using pencil, the work aims to explore the concepts of presence, perception and memory.

The origins of the work lie in figuration and landscape and by using the basic rhythms and patterns of the horizon (its line and form) the image is created. The work also explores the idea of movement and the perpetual motion of relationships between different elements and their transference from one place to another.
