These pieces are site-specific and are made in direct response to the land of which it is part using found, natural and indigenous materials. They follow the pattern or harmony of the land they are created within. Often the pieces are temporary and integrate with the perpetual pattern of change in nature. Hence the lifecycle of each piece is determined by the natural environment around it. The earthwork drawings are not preconceived except for location and materials. The actual design of the drawing emerges as the piece is made at that particular moment in time and in response to its surroundings and the energy of the land. Themes that emerge from the work are those of movement, rhythm, and time.
