Oak Tree Flower Drawing, Herefordshire

This sketch was made on a very wet April day underneath a strong and large oak tree. It had begun to shed a few of its Spring flowers which had a bright green vibrancy due to being freshly fallen. The bright flower heads were like sparkling jewels on the dull wet day. They were laid along the large swirling grooves of the oak’s roots following the patterns of its bark and the streams of rain water running along them. It felt as if the flowers formed a golden nectar running from the trunk itself.
