Seaweed Drawing, Beer Beach, Devon June 2016

This drawing was made on the shingle beach at Beer on a cloudy summers day. The beached seaweed was in varying stages of drying and had been trapped on the shoreline under the heavy flint pebbles forming a beautiful array of rusty red-brown ribbons. The seaweed ‘ribbons’ were collected and re-positioned a few feet from where they were found, forming large undulating lines along the shale. The drawing measured c. 6ft x 15ft.
