Big Draw October 10th 2009 Croft Castle, Nr Leominster
This was a one day workshop organised by Meadowarts, inviting children and families to come along and make a large scale community drawing in the grounds of Croft Castle. The grounds have many very old and beautiful trees and so in honour of this the drawing took the form of a tree underneath the canopy of a large and very old spanish sweet chestnut tree. The drawing measured c. 100ft x 100ft and was made using found natural materials from the grounds and castle estate – including straw, fallen branches, fallen apples, blossoms and autumn leaves. The photograph was taken from a Sessner aeroplane at the end of the day and the photo emailed to the 150 participants.
