Inside Out, Whitestone Forest, Monmouthshire March 2011
This was a workshop organised by Crickhowell based Arts Charity Arts Alive. The project was open to various groups including Alzheimers sufferers and Women’s groups. The workshop was held at Whitestone Forest School site, in the bluebell wood amongst beech and oak trees. Participants were invited to use found natural materials to record their footprints along a pathway connecting the trees. Each person interpreted the activity differently and brought their own specific ideas and enjoyment of the natural materials to make a unique and striking collection of footprints. The idea behind the activity was to encourage participants to connect with their immediate environment, to engage creatively with it and to have fun. The theme was centred around the concept of only leaving footprints in the natural environment.
